GET INVOLVED IN NEXT YEAR'S FESTIVAL!
The wheels are already in motion for the Royston Arts Festival 2009.
Following the success of this year’s event, the Royston Arts Festival committee held a public meeting on Wednesday 19 November, at Icknield Walk First School (Poplar Drive, Royston), to allow arts-based organisations, local venues, and others who just want to get involved to register their interest and share their ideas. The basis for the 2009 programme will be drawn up from those who attended the meeting or have otherwise expressed interest.
If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can still take part - an event registration form will shortly be available on this site. All proposals for events must be submitted to the Festival Committee by 31 December 2008.

On these pages you'll find a list of the events that took place during the weekend of the 2008 Festival, a map showing all the venues, and some photos taken at last year's Festival to give you an idea of what the Festival is all about. There's also a bunch of useful links to the groups and guests participating this year as well as to our lovely sponsors and to local sites that may be interest, whether you're a local or just visiting the town.
The Festival itself ran from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September and turned out ot be even bigger and better than before, with over 40 events organised at venues around Royston and featuring art, craft, music, dance, drama and a whole lot more.
We're particularly proud of our publishing venture, Royston Through the Eyes of a Child. This is a book compiled from contributions by children from the town's first schools, expressing in their own words what they most love about the town. The book received its official launch at the Festival and was on sale throughout the weekend, but can still be purchased locally or by downloading the PDF order form here and mailing it, with a cheque for £3.50 (to include postage & packaging) to the Festival organisers at 33 Honey Way, Royston, Hertfordshire SG8 7ES
